MNYou Youth Gardens works to empower youth through education, work experience and exposure to local entrepreneurs. The organization provides a safe, welcoming environment for youth to develop their entrepreneurial and gardening skills. The fresh produce grown by youth are contributed directly to families in the local community through Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.
With this community-driven approach, MNYou is addressing the main factors that cause food insecurity – access and price. MNYou provides a low cost CSA to those receiving SNAP benefits, while increasing access to fresh locally grown vegetables. By lowering these common barriers, MNYou is inspiring healthy eating in the community.
