Aging Wisely is a local coalition that provides support, social connectedness and education to seniors in the community, addressing the social isolation experienced by many seniors and identifying ways to be as healthy as possible. Aging Wisely will host several on-going get-togethers where seniors of different cultures can discuss health, wellbeing and aging.
The get-togethers will include sharing personal stories in a safe, confidential environment. Topics may include healthy eating, safety in the home, decluttering and downsizing, financial concerns, experiencing and expressing more joy, meaning, and purpose, making end of life decisions with family, depression, understanding the differences between memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer’s, and other topics raised by attendees.
Aging Wisely get-togethers take place on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Willmar Community Center (across from Robbins Island). The community center is wheelchair-accessible.
